Premax Performance Skincare
A friend of mine in the UK recommended Premax products to me. I was not super happy with the current chamois cream I was using so I checked out the Premax website to look at the products they offered and read more up on the company. The company is now global but was founded and the products are made in Melbourne, Australia. I have a soft spot for Australia after having lived there for three and a half years. The coffee and street art seen in Melbourne is one of the best in the world. Anyways, after reminiscing about Melbourne I decided to give some of their products a try.
I tried out their Chamois Cream for Women, Anti Friction Balm, Weather Defense Facial Cream, and Sports Sunscreen SPF50+. The Chamois Cream came in a 6.76 fl oz tub and the three other products came in smaller 1.69-1.76 fl oz tubes. First, I really liked the product sizes I got. The three smaller products I pack in my gravel bike’s frame back all the time for extra application while I am out riding.
Chamois Cream for Women- Some chamois creams are “watery” or seem to be sloppy. For the people who use chamois cream regularly know what I am talking about! The Premax cream is not; it has a thicker lotion consistency, which is probably the reason why it lasts longer. I can go for a century ride and not have to reapply and most of the cream stays on the skin vs. on your cycling shorts. So far, the best chamois cream I have used.
Sports Sunscreen SPF50+ - All sunscreen I use is at least 50+ and I would not have tried a product that was not. I am outside a lot and for extended periods of time and usually never apply sunscreen more than once. This sunscreen is similar to all high quality SPF50+ sunscreens, rubs in nicely, not oily, stays on when you are wet, and lasts all day.
Facial Cream Weather Defense– This was the product I was most excited to try out. The weather in Wyoming can be harsh from the strong dry winds, to intense sun, to the brutal cold winters. This cream is supposed to save your skin; I only tried on my face, from all of those elements. I paired this cream with the sunscreen when I knew I was going to be outside for 5+ hours at a time and my skin did feel more “moist” at the end of the day than usual. I have not had the opportunity to try this product in the cold yet but I will when winter comes and I can get the cross-country skis out.
Anti Friction Balm– The balm is supposed to be used to prevent any chaffing you may have from running to wet suit burns. I have only used this in two applications; one being chaffing under the armpit while running and the second is if I forgot to put on my chamois cream before a ride I use this! It has worked great for the two different uses I use it for. Once again, it is nice to have it in the smaller tube so you can pack it along with you when biking, hiking, or during a long run.
